Overview and Working

Black
Box Collects the Data - FleetEdge currently uses two different wireless
solutions; cellular and satellite. Both have their exclusive strengths
and the most cost effective method is selected for each client depending
on their specific application, size, market geography and existing wireless
infrastructure. The type of data collected from the machines is defined
with the FleetEdge consultant. At a minimum, operating hours are collected.
Additional data can be gathered as appropriate, i.e., GPS location, "event
triggers" such as a load cycle, a theft or unauthorized move in process,
condition notices such as problems developing in the machine, etc.
Wireless
Hub - The raw data flows to one of FleetEdge's wireless technology
partners where the signals are "scrubbed" for error correction and formatting.
The data is secure from any other source throughout this procedure. It
then flows via the Internet to the powerful FleetEdge computer servers
where it is uploaded into your exclusive and confidential data base.
Accounting
System Integration - FleetEdge's experienced systems consultants meet
with the client's technology managers to structure a secure protocol to
collect the client's equipment accounting data. A firewall is constructed
where only the equipment cost data can flow over from the client's accounting
system to a separate and secure FleetEdge mini-server located on the client's
premises. This file is then sent via the Internet to FleetEdge on a regular
basis for uploading into the client's FleetEdge data base.
FleetEdge
Data Base - The core of the FleetEdge service, this data base is configured
to fit the client's specific business rules and processes. The data base
is exclusively the client's, but physically resides on FleetEdge servers.
The processed information and reports are immediately available to the
client from anywhere via a secure web site. FleetEdge maintains the data
base, keeps the software upgraded, guarantees accessibility and delivers
the equipment intelligence on-demand. The client only needs an Internet
connection.
FleetEdge
Consultants are prepared to work with the client on any and all their
equipment questions. The consultants continue to work with the client
and act as a advisor on any equipment related issue. All of this is part
of the low monthly fee.
Equipment
Intelligence is the result of knowing what data to process, how to
process it and then interpret what it means to that specific client, in
that specific market, doing that kind of specific work.
